Four amazing spiritual tours of Peru!

Each is designed to produce profound transformations within you. This is an opportunity to accomplish great spiritual growth through deep connections to ancient places of power, and have lots of fun doing it!

In the Quechuan language of the Inka Empire, each tour is a “Hatun Karpay” (or Great Initiation), designed to produce specific paths of spiritual development within you by conducting traditional spiritual ceremonies of the Inka Empire in the places they were originally held.  Anthropologist and Master Teacher of the Andean spiritual traditions, Don Juan Nunez del Prado, has spent a lifetime tracing the Inka spiritual practices to their original sites.  Often supported by the Peruvian government, and working with Peru’s greatest P’aqo’s, Juan has revived these ceremonies, reactivating the spiritual environment of these sacred sites, and making it available to all.

This is a rare chance to work with the world’s acknowledged leading expert on Quechuan spirituality, the man who personally introduced the wisdom of the Q’ero to the world.

The Chaupi Hatun Karpay tour focuses on the interplay of emotions and willpower which drive personal transformation. Ceremonial processes will operate between your personal energy field and your body.  Participation in these ceremonies will train your energy body to manifest harmonious interaction with the external world.  This is a powerful training which grants the ability to create a harmonious relationship with your social environment.

2. Phana Hatun Karpay (bringing cosmic powers into this world) – September 3 – 13, 2025.

Drawing from the teachings of the late, great Don Benito Qoriwaman, the Phana Hatun Karpay tour offers the opportunity to become a ceremonial member of Inka royalty according to the ancient traditions of the Inka empire.  You will achieve this exalted status by reenacting the ceremonial preparations for the crowning of the Inka Emperor – a spiritual as well as political role.

3. Qoylloriti Festival September 12 – 15, 2025.

The Qoylluriti is an most important Andean festival to celebrate the Lord of the Qoylloriti. Each year 50,000 people make the pilgrimage up to the glacier of Mount Sinkara to celebrate the Lord of the Qoylloriti.  This is a chance participate in a unique indigenous festival at high altitude in comfort – with sleeping bags, food and even a chef, provided.

Ivan and several P’aqo’s will lead this tour.  Majella will participate.

This event can easily be integrated with the Phana Hatun Karpay tour.

4. Lloqe Hatun Karpay (connecting with the forces of the cosmos) – September 15 – 25, 2025

Combining the teachings of Don Melchor Deza and Taita Lorenzo (keeper of the knowledge of Lake Titicaca). The Lloqe Hatun Karpay journey provides a totally new set of power places and techniques related to feminine power. The focus of this tour is working with water as an earth-based and flexible vehicle of power. This tour opens the possibility for you to acquire “wilka” power.  Wilka power is the ability to work with wilka energy, a deep connection to the divine forces of the cosmos, your own ancestral wisdom, and the sacred geography in which you live.

Owen or Majella will co-lead this tour with Juan, Ivan and several P’aqo’s.

3. QOYLLORITI FESTIVAL

Qoyllurriti Festival – an important note

The altitude is very, very high and you will be climbing up a sacred mountain in high altitude for hours to get there.  A horse will be provided, but there will still be times when walking is necessary.   It will be very, very cold (-20C,-4F). Tents are provided but it will still be very cold.  If you suffer with health issues it is best to contact us before choosing this option. There is no hospital or emergency care there, however a doctor will accompany the group.

4. Lloqe Hatun Karpay (connecting with the forces of the cosmos) – September 15 – 25, 2025

The Llioqe Hatun Karpay will open the door to what the Inka refer to as the “fifth level” of P’aqo consciousness:

• Complete integration of your wisdom, intuition and actions.

• Visit to the citadel of Ollantaytambo, the only inhabited contemporary Inka city, a place of the continuity of the Inka spirit from the times of the Inka empire to today.
• Ritual in the Inka sanctuary of Ollantaytambo with the fountain of the Ñusta (Princess) of the Water, the fountain of the “Tawantin” (Symbols of wholeness), the fountain of “Yanantin” (the twin dimensions of reality), and the fountains of the Condor Temple.

• Ritual in “Kiswarkancha”, the ancient Inka palace and temple of Wiraqocha (and now Cusco Cathedral).  Connection with the Stone of Wiraqocha, the Earthquake Lord and Lord of Power.
• Ceremony  of  “Qosqo Llaqta Karpay”, an initiation into the power of the sacred city of Cuzco). Connection with the seven “Ñawi” (chakras) of the Puma

Day 9 (September 23) WATER CEREMONIES at RAQCHI

• Full day Bus.
• Ceremony in Wiraqocha Temple at Travel to Raqchí with the 7 Ñusta’s (Princesses) of Water, and the spirit of The Temple.
• Visit to Pucara, an ancient route of the Tiawanko Tradition.
• Overnight in Puno. 

Day 10 (September 24) GREAT SERPENT CEREMONIES at AMARU MURO.

• Ceremony in the Temple of Fertility of Chucuito.
• Ceremony in the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Assumption of Chucuito.

Day 11 (September 25)  ROYAL CEREMONY at HUMAYU.

• Ceremony in the royal tombs of Sillustani, the underwater City of Humayu.
• Flight From Juliaca to Lima.
• Return flight home.

• If taking the Qoyllurit’i’ option  Round trip from Cusco to Mawayani by bus, one night in a tent including mattress, sleeping bag, horse and full board.

Price does not include:

Flights to/from Cusco, taxi from the airport to the hotel (and return), drinks for lunch and dinner as well as optional tips.  Please consider around €25/$30 per day for additional food and drinks.

Travel insurance

Since life is not always predictable, we strongly recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. Should something change in your life and you can’t participate it will in many cases pay the cancellation fees and then save you from the financial consequences.

How to Book & Pay

Deposit

A 15% non-refundable deposit is paid to Green Tara College. Payment can be made in US dollars, Euros or Pounds.  Please understand that this is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances but secures your place. Please pay immediately once you are ready to commit. Remember places are limited.

Full Payment

Final payment of the full fee remaining is due on 4 weeks before the tour starts, at latest, of the full fee to Ivan Nunez Del Prado in Peru – details of how to do this will be available upon booking confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

• The deposit is not refundable under any circumstances.
• If you cancel more than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the tour, you will recieve a refund of any fees except the deposit which you have paid.  If you have not yet paid anything except the deposit, no further costs will be due.
• If you cancel more than two (2) weeks prior, but less than four (4) weeks, 50% of your payments (less deposit) will be refunded.
• No refunds are possible if you cancel less than two weeks before the start of the tour.

Transferring your place to someone else

• Tour places are transferable to another person at no charge. 
• There will be extra fee for train tickets and admission to some sites because these are booked for individual people by name and new ones must be purchased. 
• Ivan will advise on costs if you need to take this option..

When you decide to go ahead and book a place on the tour, enroll and pay the required deposit

You will then be sent a booking confirmation containing:

1. Details on how to pay the remaining fees directly to Peru.
2. A link to a form which you must use to submit essential traveller information to Peru.  This will be used to book tickets and hotel rooms in your name.

Extra Details

• Dr Owen and Majella will arrive  a few days before each tour commences and stay a few days after.  Green Tara staff are also resident in Peru and can assist as needed.  We hope to meet up with our students and others to explore and eat together for anybody that would like that.
• The taxi from airport to Cusco is very cheap and the Airport is near the City.  The hotel also can pick you up from the Airport.
• We may be organising additional trips before each tour ourselves and people are welcome to join and share taxi costs, etc.
• As much as possible, we hope to spend extra time on some of the sacred sites once the ceremonies are complete. When we have the opportunity we will spend time with our own group doing extra ceremony and connecting to the sites.  This is optional, we would just share travel costs back to the hotel etc.
• We will advise on medical shots, clothing, etc.
• There will not be excessive climbing on this trip so if you are not fit and a great walker don’t worry.
• You are strongly advised to have suitable travel medical insurance.
