Using Zoom in our courses

We use Zoom for our web classes.

We are adapting our course for Lockdown times.

Some  of our classes have been adapted for Zoom.

This section tells you how to get started with Zoom

Zoom 5.0 is live! Please update to version Zoom 5.0 now or before May 30th.

Beginning May 30th, 2020, Zoom will be enabling encryption, providing increased protection for meetings.  The existing Zoom apps cannot do this and MUST be upgraded.
After May 30, 2020, all Zoom clients on older versions will receive a forced update when trying to join meetings.

Downloading and Installing Zoom before your first Zoom Class.

To ensure a pleasant experience with your first Zoom Class, we highly encourage students to download and install Zoom before the meeting.

To download and install Zoom:

    • Go to and from the Download Center, Download “Zoom Client For Meetings”.
    • Once the download is complete, proceed with installing the Zoom application onto your computer.
    • Run Zoom.
    • Test your camera & sound:
        • CLICK SETTINGS (the gear icon)
          • Select Video – If you camera is working you will see it working.
          • Select Audio
          • Click TEST SPEAKER – you should hear sound.  If the OUTPUT LEVEL bar is moving, but you cannot hear anything, sound is playing, but your speakers are not working (or are turned off).
          • Click TEST MICROPHONE – speak – you should see the INPUT LEVEL changing.  If the INPUT LEVEL is not moving, your microphone is turned off or not working.
Zoom will then play your sound back.  If you do not hear anything, the microphone did not work.
